What is not professional is releasing a product that isn't fit for purpose then rather than fixing it, remove it's core components, Ford wouldn’t make a car and sell it with dodgy Turbo then remove it without warning, and leave you with a standard block. And a sure one size does not fit all as well do our shows differently and on a wide array on computers, but that’s what Beta testers are for. As for equipment we can only go one the recommendations of Forums, we are already told to use XP and not to expect it to work on windows 7 until SP1.chemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
What we should remember this is a job and a living to some people and not a Hobby and real craftsmen rely on good tools.

I would certainly want Ford to remove that Turbo if it was causing crashes or fires!!
Would you like for the Beta Testers to go out and buy every computer in the world and set it up the way evreyone does with their personal likes and dislikes all at our own expense??? No thanks I don't have that kind of money to do it and I can tell you none of the rest do either.
XP is a known factor and a stable platform for the most part. Vista is not and this is why MTU recommends not using Vista unless you have to. Windows 7 is an unknown factor altogether and I don't know about you but I have yet to see an operating system come out of Microsoft that was stable and not full of bugs to begin with. Gee I guess their Beta Testers missed a few things too or Microsoft went ahead and released without fixing it. The U.S. Defence Department will not touch any MS operating system until at least two service pack releases.
Hoster did not show any videos in the preview display until 4.06 came out with it and now your griping because they took it away for causing major problems???? No one is forcing you to upgrade to 4.07. Stick with 4.06 and be happy.

I have no master volume slider as the site states is now in Hoster 4.07. Does anyone else have this function or is this a MTU miss print?

Walt the list of changes for 4.07 says "REMOVED Volume Slider - This was removed because there are too many "bad" audio cards/ports kept it from working as expected."
Also I hope you read the rest of this thread. The current download of Hoster 4.07 has problems in it and is being reworked and re-released (hasn't happened yet). Something happened between the last Beta we tested and the release version and they are trying to figure out what.

I have read this entire tread. At 4:16 PM, MTU posted that the changes to 4.07 were done and is ready to download. I do see that the Volume Slider has been removed but I didn't see that when I originally went to the download page. There are other problems with 4.07 which I will post uless you are already aware of a third release of 4.07?????

Walt

Sorry Walt I missed that one for some reason. No this hopefully will be it. I'll have to download it and try it to see if they fixed it.

Dale, I downloaded 4.07 after the fix and still it crashes after KMA is played. I went back to 4.06. Also post #20 says it all. Vista is unstable.

I agree, but to a more serious degree. You see, I own the bar. We do karaoke 6 nights a week. Not only would serious problems cost me a single gig, it would cost me more like a $500,000 investment. My entire existence, along with my families livelihood, is wrapped up in karaoke with Hoster as the centerpiece.

Now, with that said, I assure you that MTU and the beta testers (me included) try their level best to make sure that everything is working before release. It is completely impossible to eliminate all the problems. Not only are the hardware configurations endless, there are still plenty of boneheads who insist on running additional programs in the background. These same individuals are unwilling or unable to make the changes needed to assure a smooth running machine. Add to that, the questionable nature of the source of the song selection, and you can't possibly account for everything that can go wrong. All these issues can, and will, be fixed. It is just a matter of time.

Do you thing that MTU is purposely trying to sabotage you? They want exactly the same thing that you want. Your success is intimately tied to theirs.
