Technical Question (not hoster related )

the reason i asked was that i am thinking about cloning and replacing it with a bigger drive ( 250 ),and i dont wanna clone it if it is going to have the same equal space.this mini laptop has a regular sata drive.

Powerquest had a program called PartitionMagic. Symantec bought them out and now they sell it. This should allow you to put the partitions back together without losing what is on the C: Drive. However anything on the D: Drive will be lost. However it does not support Vista.

you will be able to clone the c: drive to a new drive or a back up drive then you could clone it back to the original drive gaining all the space on it.

i'll be cloning it to a bigger hhd, and cloning it back to the original hhd. i don't think it will work since the old hhd. has a smaller space than the new one, but thanks for the suggestion.

You could also use Norton Ghost, and yes it will work just fine. I also used altiris express to clone my hard disk drive. I used it to go from a 60GB to a 160GB hard disk drive. Both programs will let you adjust partition sizes as long as you don't reduce the size of the boot partition.

i've been using acronis and i think i could do it by using the manual cloning feature..no i didnt wanna reduced the size of the boot partition what i wanted is to removed/delete the partition to make it a one size drive..thanks for the suggestion.

Look for a non-destructive partitioning program. Partition Magic is one that I have used in the past with great success. I haven't used one in quite some time, so there may be better or free ones out there.
