Duplicate Book ID

Hi I used KeyRite for the 1st time to convert a KMA file with a modified key. It worked great, but I am unclear on how to add it to my playlist without removing the original. I would like to have both the original and the modified pitch versions on file for different singers. Using 'rebuild database' the modified file is ignored a a duplicate of the original. Ideally I would like to keep the Book ID the same but with an extension on it to mark it as a pitch modified version.

No real way to do what you ask. The way I do it is to use the Singer's database to save the pitch change info for myself or others.

That's too bad. While the method you described works it would be far easier to keep the original for common requests and add the changed KMA to the singer list so that it alway gets automatically chosen. What I might try is reimporting the orginal using a custom Book ID (so there are 2 copies in the database) and then modifying it and replacing its original. That 'should' give me both versions. Though that method is more work than somehow tweaking the pitch-changed KMA, it is work that is done only once, unlike modifying the song on the fly each time it is requested.
Once I have a method that works I can use it on a number of songs where I would like to have multiple versions in different keys.

With the version 4.06 and the Singer's Database once you include the song and Key Change in that database it is saved. When you add to the playlist from the Singer's Database it will automatically set the Key for them. You do not have to remember to change it on the fly.

Here's your "answer."

There are M A N Y ways to do what you want...here's one and is the simplest when dealing STRICTLY WITH KMAs:

Use Songverter to change the "KeyChanged" KMA to Mp3+G.

Rename Both files to a "different name."

i.e.
Original name
Sc7501-01 - Presley, Elvis - An American Trilogy.cdg
Sc7501-01 - Presley, Elvis - An American Trilogy.mp3

Modified name
Sc7501-16 - Presley, Elvis - An American Trilogy (-1).cdg
Sc7501-16 - Presley, Elvis - An American Trilogy (-1).mp3

Assuming Sc7501 has 15 ORIGINAL Tracks, use a Track Number HIGHER than the last Track Number on the Disc. I used Track 16 in the example above.

Then, you could add a + or - (plus or minus) followed by a number to remind you of what key the Track was modified. I used (-1) in the example above.

Once the TWO FILES of the Track have been properly renamed (exactly the same), use Songverter to CONVERT the Mp3+G to a single BIN file.

Use Hoster to IMPORT, from the HARD DRIVE.

The example above, allows you to Import your MODIFIED TRACK
W I T H O U T having to ASSIGN a NEW BOOK ID.

Done

Excellent suggestion, although you wouldn't have to reconvert to bin, you could just reimport the mp3g as is.
