One of the bar is asking me to go back to Hoster 3.21

At one moment, last night, I restarted a song 5 times, syncronicity issues, with no luck. I had to go back to Hoster 3 included in version 4 which has some issues itself. I will have to uninstall because people are starting to tell me that there are too many mistakes after the upgrade.

Sorry, sorry, and sorry again MTU, I don't mean to disrespect your honest work but Hoster is not working as it used to work. I know that there is a lot to work with Vista but at least my clients are not understanding this and I am the one they are blaming.

This is my main computer in case that you need the info

Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680
Vista Ultimate 32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7300 operating at 2.0GHz
4MB L2 cache
2GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM memory
320GB of hard-disk storage on 2 Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives (160GB + 160GB)
nVidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 512MB of dedicated DDR2 memory, plus up to 255MB of shared memory

Angry Vista problems

I feel your pain
I too have a toshiba computer with vista

I did solve my lyrics out of sync problem by keeping all 4 white borders within the viewing screen of the 2nd display but now I am having audio problems.

I tried to run my show last night with 4.05 but while people were singing the music would for no apparent reason go into slow motion along with the lyrics and the music sounded like it was stuttering;
I have lost faith in Hoster now
I cannot continue to run shows like this

I am staying with 3.4
my clientel does not care about a fancy display anyway

They like Hoster the way it was not the way it is now
Weather its a Vista problem or a Hoster problem people do not care they want to sing on a reliable program that is going to work

"music would for no apparent reason go into slow motion along with the lyrics and the music sounded like it was stuttering";

I'm also having this problem with my Toshiba laptop. After starting the show during the 3rd or 4th song the music starts stuttering with a faint reverb. It sounds like it's going thro' a cheap keychanger. Any ideas ?

Well

I have several laptops the main ones a Toshiba Vista and a HP Pavilion. The HP has the audio stuttering symptom. The Toshiba is out of sync.

I will stick to the other ones that still have installed 3.21

This was the exact fault i had when i went from 4.03 to 4.04..I am using 4.03 for my shows and when anyone wants a key change song i use a different hosting program which is a real pain as the key changer doesnt work in 4.03!!

I had the 'shuttering' problem on my Dell running Vista. What I found is I can not have any programs running in the background (wireless internet, sidebar, etc.) I also am staying with 4.03 for now as it seems to have fewer problems. I figured 2g of ram would have been enough.

Programmers at MTU. I DO APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK AND FRUSTRATIONS.

Those are a couple of good points to check. For Vista users make sure you don't have any internet connections running, run Vista in Classic mode and also make sure Vista's Sidebar is turned off. These are all memory hogs and will cause problems.

Problems with Hoster 4.0-4-?

I do a one man band show three - four nights a week on avg. I have used Hoster for 5-6 years, never had a problem that wasn't self-created. I have kept up with all Hoster upgrades and computer upgrades. I have purchased each upgrade without worry until now. Unlike a karaoke show, i cannot keep stopping and re-starting over and over. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I asked for and recieved a refund on Hoster 4.0, went back to old faithful 3.21. I still believe in Hoster and MTU, have faith they will get the product right. Until then, i have to do my show without problems, and Hoster has done that for me for years before, and I believe for years to come, God willing.
To All having problems at this time, no one is suffering more than Dave Cox and his MTU staff at this time. So keep the faith, believe. They WILL get you the product you have come to expect from MTU.

I have 4.04 on my Dell Inspiron 1520 with the NVIDIA 8400GS and I have not seen the shuddering nor the synchronization problems. Perhaps it is because I have 4GB of memory. The only problem I have had with VISTA is the periodic lockups, but I run the O/S in classic mode, and I made sure I downloaded the latest driver from NVIDIA. I try not to run WMP nor do I have any other unnecessary applications running.

I also have Hp laptop with Vista, I too have the same problem, Song start fine then start to slow down the audio and video (like doing slow motion on audio and video with stuttering irratating sound) on Hoster 4.05, I'm glad it just my test machine.

My show computer (desktop with Xp ) still has the Hoster 3.15 and up to now works great. Even I opened 5 Hoster playlists, 2 access windows and winamp for my effects
My back-up computer is desktop with Xp and 4.05 and 3.4. This I also use for testing new hoster upgrades and for my personnal practice. Which works ok but haven't subjected to actual show. Occasionally 4.05 have issues on Video Songs (mpeg) on practice , 3.4 sems to be fine.

Also Have my old Sony Viao laptop with Xp home edition and hoster 3.21 as portable back up machine.

There someone around that says that I am the only one facing this problems

Glad to hear that I am not alone. I will stick with MTU till the end so I won't ask for a refund. What I am trying to do is to inform MTU about the software issues so they have some feedback

What else can you do if Hoster is on your computer. It seems that you have to turn off everything...just thinking out loud. So there is no way that use some other softwares with Hoster. then, How come I can use other softwares at the same time at the computes does not tell me "...has stopped responding" It only happens with Hoster 4.

If you are having these problems with 3.4 then you are the only one.

3.4 is 3.321, just with a different number. If you have problems with 3.4 there's 99.9% chance you will with 3.321 as well.

No, I'm not having troubles with 3.4 but the way it behaves, no way it is the exact 3.21 version.

The only change they made to 3.4 was to allow it to work under the 4.0 registration code. What works differently?
