Are there holes where the posts used to be? If so you may be able to get some from a computer repair shop or the Best Buy Geek Squad.

HP computers don't have any screw or holes to attach the vga cable, if that is the case I use a stable surface and tape the cable to it. Not a high tech solution but it is the best that can be done.

have you tried to use a diff. cable , is the cable plugged in all the way? my 2 dell laptops is the same way no holes, someone gave me an hp pavillion f1703 monitor, and i couldn't get it to work till i replaced the cable that came with it...and it's working fine now..

Is there not a converter of some kind that I can use? vga cord to usb port? something along those lines. I mean the vga port does work but I'm concerned it will pop out at the most inopportune time. Tape is an option but seems rather primitive given modern technology and all
