According to the programmers that work with me its because of changes in the applications to make the app. compatible with vista.
Laddie,
I understand now. I use Sound Forge 8 now. I've used Sound Forge since version 3 was relesed on Floppy discs. Like Hoster it's an awesome program.

The few times I lost my cd burner working with the Hoster 4 betas, a system restore always put me back to good.

Wow, I sound like "The System Restore Kid" today. I always try everything else before I use System Restore. In these two cases (net framwork 3.5 and losing the cd burner) I found that using System Restore was the fastest, most definate way to solve the porblem. I very seldomly do a System Restore.

Thanks for your input Laddie.

Jim

Here Is The Fix!

Click here to download a small "batch" executable file to run that makes your optical drive re-appear.

The problem is the Hoster Demo Installation file was registering a "Windows service" to use a driver we used to use, but now don't. By adding a "not found" service, Windows hides your drive.

This batch file removes that "service" so your drive re-appears. Tell everyone who reports this problem about this fix, and Bryan will be adding it to a FAQ page.

We uploaded a new Hoster Demo that no longer registers that service; i.e. we FIXED the demo.

Hi Madjim,

You seem to have a lot of answers... I just upgraded to 4.05 from 3.321 and the manual shows Tempo Controls. I do not have it, is there something I need too do????

Hey Peter,
The tempo feature will be added once the new sound manger is added to Hoster in version 4.10 which is planned for release in eary 2009. Vista has MTU way behind schedule.
