Under Tools/Options there is a display reset, have you tried that?

I did not relieze that a song has to be playing for it to show, I just am starting up a new computer after losing 2 a week or 2 ago.

Go to Show Display in Tools and set the Intermission screen to "ON" then it will show all the time.
