Talking Songfinder And Hoster

I have had no problems using it or the singers using this as well and it uses the song.mdb file to build its database so your electronic book is updated all the time by replacing the songs.mdb file in songfinder each time you add new songs

here is a link

trying to imagine how this works, if your doing a show how can your singers send you an electronic msg, if they are in your show?, the walk ins, how do they request a song, do you get the requested song in advanced? can't imagine how it works, unless you have your songs list posted out there, and one more question ( sorry ) what do you do if you get the same song requested by a bunch of singers...

Talking Songfinder usage

i have 3 laptops set up in the bar. my main laptop is onstage with me and the other 2 are placed on a table at the end of the stage. when a singer goes to the laptop they search for there song using the program
search is individual song or artist or there are tabs to view the entire book by title or artist.
once the song is selected with the mouse all of the versions such as sound choice dk ect. pop up .
then the singer clicks on the version they want then a electronic karaoke slip pops up with that information and they then fill in there name and there are tabs on the side of the slip to select the key change. once complete they click on send and it is then sent to my main laptop into the songfinder receiver program which floats above hoster and can be resized to fit anywhere.
if you check out the link it has some screen shots to show how this works. all my singers love this program and hoster as well

sounds good, the only thing i dont like about it was, yeah you dont have all that books and slips, the only thing was you'll have a lot of people ( singers ) line up waiting to send in a request and to me that makes you're area cluttered, ( i know i dont have to use the program )arent you worried that singers might spill drinks on your laptops ? and i think you have to be connected to the internet, what happened if it goes down?

laptop songbook

you can buy older laptop very cheap for this purpose fastrack files will even work on windows 95 operating system 2 small files to copy to hard drive from a floppy even. the one thing good about this over paper books is the search is fast then they just right down the number of the track. only thing is price is a little up there. cheap as printing books i guess

Talking Songfinder Wireless

no internet connection is needed just a wireless router
i bought a compact one thats 3in square. using 2 laptops
if there is a person at each laptop entering a song once they get done then 2 other people come up to enter there song. i usually have a 2 hour rotation and the singers are very respectable of each other. I
have used the program for 3 years and no drinks are allowed at the entering station. When there is a special event like a birthday party i then have 2 xtra laptops which i got on ebay for less then 150 dollars each which i then place in other areas around the room for songs to be entered as well

yes i think it is a great program to have and i hear it works with hoster. with a screen on your desktop would be nice if hoster could add there own program to do something of the same thing right into hosters program. If the price would come down on it they would sell a lot more it has been out for a long time and know one is talking it up and i think the price has a lot to do with it. I know on the site they talk about how mutch it cost for printing songbooks dang hoster cost about the same or close to it lol. There should or will be more programs like this out as paper gets less and less plus hardware gets cheaper to get a hold of. Like i said fasttrack2 has a program like this but you still need to fill in a slip from the info. But the thing is you get some other programs to work with and half the price.
