New version database problem
I upgraded to 4.03 but I can't seem to get Hoster to rebuild database. I tried to delete "Songs.mdb" but don't seem to have that file in the Hoster folder. I do have a "bucket file" which I removed but that did not help. When I direct Hoster to where the files are stored it doesn't seem to recognize my KMA files. Does anybody have a solution?
Thanks. Bob |

Hey Bob,
It sounds like you have some files left from a previous version of Hoster that are confusing the program. Hoster 4.0X keeps it's files in the C:\MTU\... directory. If there is an old copy of the songs.mdb anywhere on your computer, it will confuse the program. Go to the C:\Program Files\Micro Technologies Unlimited\Hoster folder, this is where the files were kept for most versions of Hoster 3.XXX. If I recall correctly there is a folder there that held all of the songs data, fiind it and delete it. Once it is deleted, (or you can save a copy on a jump drive if you want to be super safe) you should be able to rebuild your database and be ready to go. If this doesn't get you going. these is an old copy of the song.mdb on your computer left from when MTU was adjusting for Vista. Find it, delete it and all should be fine. I hope this helps Jim ![]()

Look in C:\MTU\Hoster. That is where Hoster stores the "working files." Delete the Songs.mdb and the Songs_backup.mdb file. Do not delete the Bucket.mdb file as that is the information used to fill in the artist\title blocks when you import.
Open Hoster and it should go automatically to the rebuild dialog. Add the folder where your files are located and remove C:\MTU\KMA Files folder from that list. That should rebuild it.

Thanks Jim, I did find some files on C/Hoster and some files in Programs/Microtechnologies/ Hoster/data. Not sure which ones were causing the problem but somehow, I was able to rebuild my database. So, thanks again, I just don't know exactly what I did to correct the problem but I did get it solved for now. Thanks again
