Hey Laddie,
Are you talking about the Singer Database?

When new features are added to a program there are two factors that always come into play.

1. The program will use more resources

2. The new code need to be teaked

MTU will work with the Singer Database code and smooth things out. I'll bring this up when we start testing 4.04.

Thanks

Jim

Try This

Hey Laddie,
My singer database has been filling up. What I'm doing is I leave the Singer Database window and the search window open all of the time. I set the Taskbar to autohide and pull them to the bottom of the screen, I don't close them. I leave the database window so only the name filed is visable. When I want to see the database I enter the singer name and double click on the top of the window and it goes full screen. When I'm done I double click again and it returns. (I'd like to be able to do the same thing with the search window. That way I don't have drag any windows around. Maybe down the road. )

Try leaving the Singer Databse window open (moved so you can see most of the playlist), this seems to make it work better.

Jim

Jim,
I will try that, sounds like it may help as long as the list of songs is less than one screen full..

I will test it on 4.03 tonight. Support told my to try unloading wmp11 for version 4.04 to stop slow graphics. I am going to load 4.04 back on my laptop for Friday night with wmp9 to test that. I will use your songs DB method as well. Let you know how it works. Thanks

Laddie,
I have used WMP 11 on all of my computers since before 4.0 was released. If you are serious about having Hoster 4 run at it's best, you should get WMP 11, im my opinion.

Also you need .netframework 3 and SP3 (for XP if you use it) if you want Hoster 4 to run it's best. All custom windows updates must be installed as well.

I hope this helps.

Jim

Jim,
I have wmp 11 installed, along with .netframework 3 and SP3...MTU support told me to un-install it. That is was possibley causing the lyrics to slow or stop in version 4.04.. I don't think it's the problem, but I will give it a shot...

Jim,
I used the method last night and it is a pretty good work-around. Its still slow, but not dragging the screen save alot refresh time.
Thanks

Laddie,
Right on! I have reported the Singers Database refresh issue and feel confident that MTU will look at it in due time. My personsl list is now almost 50 songs and I'm seeing the Singers Database window refresh what seems like anytime I do anything with it. It's a bit of a pain but the work around seems to help me.

Thanks

Jim

Question Dale or Jim

Does anyone know how large the Singers' Database is - i.e. how many Singers & Songs it will actually hold? I have 300+ songs just for me that I would like to add that I now have categorized on 6 different Playlists for when I do all the singing. This doesn't count my singers when I do karaoke.
