Ok, I move all the songs that were converted (1658) then loaded hoster again, coversion started, after about 400 files error message says ' file not found' but it is there. if i move the file, delete old location, then move it back. it continues to next song, this is the same problem I began with. Most of my kma's are from cdg discs. If I click on OK or CANCEL, it just stays on that file. Right now I have conversion on hold until I get every file moved, deleted for old location, moved again, then I will continue conversion. This move process is taking 2.5 hours each way. And I'm not sure this is going to work until conversion ends and I see how many songs I have. Once again, I HATE VISTA. Thanks for all info you can get for me. Jack

These are not done in alphabetical order but in record order from your songs database file. That means you moved files that had not been processed and now it can't find them.

I moved the 1658 songs that converted correctly (I know which ones they were by date modified) then moved the rest to another folder, deleted old folder, then moved them back. Started Hoster and it started to update files again. So far it is about a third done. When all is complete I hope I didn't do as your quote says, 'If it ain't broke, fix it until it is' I will let you know when this is compleye what happened. Again, Thank you for your input. You really seem to know your stuff. Are you a beta tester for MTU? and if you are how do you become one. I need to add quote to my profile. 'I love Hoster program, Have I told you lately how much I hate VISTA'

Yes I am a Beta Tester but I have also been an IT tech for 40 years. It helps to know your equipment at least as much as Microsoft lets you.
![]() Admin picks the beta testers there is no way to apply for it.

I don't have 40 years but I worked for Frigidaire for 17 years, 5 as a programmer. I know my way around a computer but Vista is a OS from heck. Almost done converting file. Keep fingers crossed.

Please some one help me
please some one help me
I can play my files in Microstudio but not in Hoster 4.1 any more. I installed Hoster 4.2 and had to reinstall 4.1 because 4.2 was not playing a lot of my song files. (no I didn't get any error mesg. at conversion) Now it seens that 4.2 files are still there and is preventing 4.1 from running like before with no problems using the same files as before. I rebuilt Song database and then used access to fix the database of my songs since a lot of files have spaces before the name & disc field and other problems. Then I completed that fix and moved song database back to the folder. When I started Hosters 4.1 it just started rebuilding the database I just fixed before hoster started again and retuned me to the mess I was trying to fix. I have a Xp computer. What Is going on here are we not allowed to touch or fix the database any more? And why Hoster 4.1 not able to play my songs but Microstudio can? Quote:
The vast majority were HDZIP. I got a Bad Zip error message for approx 30 of them. I noted the disc ID and (on one PC), deleted them using Edit Songs. I haven't removed them from my other PC just yet but know that if I try to play any one of them Hoster will just skip over them and play the next good song in the playlist. I'm pleased to see that you finally got yours all converted and can't understand why you experienced the problem you did. I know Vista is a hunk of sh.... but I didn't have a problem with it regarding the zip conversion.
