Angry Converting CAVS disc music to use in Hoster

I am currently trying to set my show up to run completely from Hoster. I have been doing shows for a long time and have a few different formats that I use (CD+G, CAVS, MP3+G and yes Laser Disc). I have figured out how to import the CD+G and the MP3+G songs but not the Laser Disc stuff and CAVS songs. I purchased the file converter from CAVS but am having trouble importing them into Hoster. Does anyone have experience converting CAVS songs and adding them to your library? I'm pretty sure that I am going to bag the Laser Discs but if anyone knows of a fairly easy way to convert them I would love to hear it. Thanks all!

The cavs converter, converts them to mp3g. You should be able to just import that way after conversion.

As for laser disks, you'll need a TV card (internal or external) for your computer and connect your laser player to the card/computer and record each track that way. You won't be able to import them into the database yet but you can select them from the video tab at the top of the playlist screen.

4.0 is supposed to be able to Import Video (hopefully everthing that Hoster wll now play from the hd). That's what I'm waiting for.

So, laser disks will have to be converted to the proper format for Hoster to recognize.

The CAVS converter does not convert them to a usable format for anything except adding them to their jukebox computer. The program you need to convert them correctly is CDGFix. Do a search on the internet and you will find it easy.

I use the free cavs converter for the one or two mp3+mcg songs I buy occasionally from them, and it works fine
for converting them to mp3+cdg.

Now if by "cavs disk" he is refering to SCDG, then yes it requires a different converter like the one CDGFix sells.

Definitely, With the CDGFix, you will be able to convert to a format that is acceptable with Hoster.
