Importing CD Problems
A lot of my CD's will start transfering over and then will either go extremely slow or will just quit. They play fine in a regular karaoke machine. Has anyone else had this problem?

What version Hoster?
What operating system? What disk drive and do you have the latest firmware update on it? Are the discs dirty or scratched?

Checked updates as suggested. I cleaned both the disks and the light in the drive and things are working much better now. I have some copies of cd+g and it just doesn't like those. Thanks for your help!

Robin,
Please don't be upset with our board members. We take a clear stand against piracy and try to help those who don't understand. The board members are just trying to give good advice. Telling folks the legalities of purchasing karaoke tracks could prevent them from running into a lawsuit. ![]() It's All Good! Jim ![]()

Not upset at all! I truly understand. I just thank everyone for all the good advise and help. Accually I do not do this for money, I have two systems at two different places - believe it or not just for fun.
Thanks for a great product! Robin |

Robin,
What version of Hoster are you using? MTU has made alot of improvments when it comes to importing CDG's. Jim ![]()

I have 3.321, I just bought it about 3 weeks ago. I bought a Dell computer just for this. I have Vista operating system but after reading all the forums I think I would have been better to have stayed with XP. However, I have not had the first problem other than not cleaning my cd's. I guess there has to be a little labor right! I have been in a band for the past 26 years, that is why I have so much equipment. I only play this stuff at home for fun. Since I have two homes I have equipment at both places that's the reason for the confusion with the copies.
Thanks for the help.. Robin |

Since you started with 3.321 you should not have any problems with Vista. You should really use the originals to import and even then some may be slow do to quality of the discs the producers use. This may be the case with your copies too. If you use music quality disc then you won't have as much problem with them as you will the cheaper data discs. We have also found that data disc are only good for about 3 years and then they will not work. Found this out when a disc of pictures we had would not open anymore.

I thank you for letting me know about the disks. I have been using the cheapest ones I could find. Sounds like I will be paying the price for using cheap ones. Another few nights of transfering songs over and I won't have to use the old karaoke machine anyway.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully an old dog can learn new tricks. Robin Johnson |
