Bad Crackling sound coming from hoster

Hello,

I am running Hoster 3.317 on a Hp Pavilion laptop. I recently switched back to windows xp from vista due the issues with vista. The sound was working just fine in vista. When I switched back to xp and reloaded all my kma files, Hoster now makes this wierd crackling sound when the somgs are played. This only happens in Hoster. I use otsdj for my music and everything works just fine on that end (i.e. no static or crackiling). could someone please help me in fixing this situation.

Thank You

When you switched back to XP did you go to the Microsoft Update page and do the Custom Updates? If not then that would probably be your problem. You need to load all of the updates and not just the critical ones that Microsoft pushes with their Auto Update.

I now have al the nesecary updates and downloads from windows. i even got Hoster 3.321 and still have the same crackiling problem. could it possibly be my cd/dvd reader? when i check it it says that it is not a karaoke reader. Would that be what is causing the problem?

let me just add that everything worked fine with vista. the reason that i switched back to xp is because i could not edit any of my songs. That is why i switched. I have this same program running on another hoster built pc and it is running fine. If it runs fine through vista, then it should run fine through xp right? Just getting frustrated

If Hoster is telling you the drive isn't karaoke capable then yes this could be the problem with any file you import with it.
