hoster 3.321 demo import karaoke disk tracks issue
If all else fails, where can I get a very inexpensive external drive that will read karaoke discs?
I already have a regular karaoke machine with amp, mics, speakers etc. I just want to be able to save my songs onto my laptop hard drive so I can access them quickly without disks. Gene |

Your best bet would be to get an external drive from MTU as they certify them to be CDG compatible. Most of the external DVD-R drives will work, but they do not guarantee that they will read CDG. MTU tests the drives they sell and makes sure they work.
If you haven't done it already I would suggest you go to Windows Update and do the "Custom" update. Install everything they list for your computer. MTU programs are very integrated with Microsoft's operating system and can give you problems if something is missing. Next thing I would say is go to Compac and get the latest updates they have. There could be a newer firmware update for the internal drive that would get it working.
