Hey Sam,
Thanks for some options, I did several cdg multiplex in SoundForge that way, before Hoster could handle them. If there is a program to split the audio and video and then rejoin, then that's what I'll probably do. That is if MTU is not working on something to be able to handle this in an upcoming version of Hoster or a separate program.

I read somewhere in the forums they are working on a program to handle Laserdiscs with the ability to roll in to songs database. Surely they would include other video also. (VCD & DVD)

I'll research Tsunami MPEG and if cost is doable I might give it a try.

Anyway
Thanks again,

I guess they call it TMPGEnc now . Looks like the slightly limited demo is free at
http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/download.html There really isn't any documentation.

Sam,
Thanks, I downloaded TMPGEnc and it split the .DAT video file easy as pie.
However, When I loaded the mp3 into SoundForge both tracks had vocals.
I totally didn't expect that. That means that the only way I can do this is to
record in SoundForge as I play it in Hoster with left multiplex channel selected. Edit to duplicate the same amount of silence at beginning, then convert that back to mp3 and rejoin the mp3 and video in TMPGEnc.

WOW! That's a lot of work for 14 files. The good news is that I have 2 of these discs (U-Best) but the other one is multiplexed on the other channel and works fine just copying the files and renaming them. They are U-Best 52 & 33.

Well, I guess I'd better get started if I'm going to do this. Thanks again for your insight.

Wally

I've been trying to play with this but keep running into problems. My vista machine has decided it won't play mp3's and Soundforge isn't letting me do anything at all saying I need to purchase a plugin. I did split a vcd track making the audio a wav file and it played on WMP with vocals on one side and not the other so I'm relatively sure that if Soundforge was working I should have been able to fix that there.

If you have the latest Vogone there is a feature that will demultiplex songs but I'm not sure offhand if it does all audio files or just kma or bins. It's on a computer I can't get to right now.

That's why I just added "vocal on L" to the filenames. I'm lazy .

Sam,
Yes, SoundForge needs a plug-in to handle mp3's. I use Goldwave to convert mp3's to wav, then use SoundForge for heavy duty editing.

I was able to complete 1 track via the method I mentioned in my earlier post. (Record, as it plays in Hoster, edit beginning silence and total time length of original, adjust volume if needed, save and load into Goldwave and save as mp3. Then go back to TMPGEnc and re-join the two files. It worked, I just do not want to have to go through this process 13 more times if I don't have to. I'll wait for a while to see if mtu comes up with something more doable.

Turns out, "I'm lazy too!"
