the first window that pops up should have a choice of express or custom.

You don't have those chioces with vista.
there is no custom update or express with Vista.
you take the updates it offers or nothing.

Are you sure Bob?

I have Vista Business on my work laptop. I went there the other day to see what was available. It seemed there were maybe 24 optional updates. Perhaps the business version it different.

I know with XP on this box it opens to a normal size window so you have to scroll down to see the custom button.

I have my work box set to automatically download critical updates. But I thought there were optional ones.

I think they like to open explorer in a normal window so most people won't see the custom option. I wish, but they never will, they would let me go ahead and use Firefox to update windows. That's the only thing I use Internet explorer for.
