Errors
I am importing many .zip files from an external hard drive. I've done over 6000 without any errors. Now, all of a sudden everyone I try comes up with an error sign instead of the imported sign. The files are in the same format. I can't figure this one out. Can anyone help?

Zip covers a multitude of sins and there is no exact standard for how they are done. So if these files are from different sources then they may or may not be the same format.
What version of Hoster are you using and what operating system? The zip file problems were solved and released in version 3.319, however some other problems have been discovered and MTU is working on a 3.320 release to fix those, so I would wait to upgrade if needed.

I am running with 3.318. Could that be my primary problem? I can wait for another upgrade if need be. Thanks for your reply.

Yes that could be it. Shouldn't be too long before they get the update out.

Read this Post about Hoster 3.320, and then download and install it.
The problem is in 3.318 and 3.319, now fixed in 3.320. We too thought we had a virus when we unknowingly lost files not related to Hoster at all. We are confident we found the code that along with Windows' random operations did the NTSF index damage. We are confident we have fixed the problem, but only you folks seeing the problem repeatedly can tell us it is fixed. Thank you for your patience. We truly are sorry this happened, and believe we have solved it. |
