My discs load but wonWon't download
I just downloaded the latest discs and sent them directly to my external hard drive. If you look on the hard drive they show up. If you type them in in the search engine they come up. then you add them and hit play and get nothing... no audio, no video. this has never happened before. any ideas or suggestions?

You downloaded them from where and in what format?
What MTU program are you using to play them? What operating system?

downloaded them from the original cdg's sent them to my KMA folder... using hoster to play them. No deviation from what I've been doing the whole time. If I go to my computer and click on the external hard drive and open my kma folder they are there. I can go to the search function in hoster and they come right up. I push add track.... and up they come. press play.... and dark screen. no audio, no video.

What version of Hoster?
You really should have posted this in the Hostrer Help Forum rather than this one. What about the ones you previously have imported. Do they still play right?

What brand of discs and are theyregular comercial ones or special order custom made ones? Reason I ask is the custom ones are protected in some way that Hoster couldn't import a short time back.
If they are regular ones, then I would say check to see if there are any updates from Microsoft and check if there are any firmware updates for your drive.

they are pop hits and I'm embarassed to say I have no idea what firmware is much less how to check for updates on it. I'm a point and click, do what the directions tell me kind of guy.

have you tried adding them to the playlist via the cdg tab at the top of the playlist. Try the same thing with an older disk that imported and is working. If the older disk works while the newer ones don't maybe theres a problem with a batch of their disks.

I just tried that with the same result... tried it with more than one disc... I don't think it's possible that I could get 6 bad discs at the same time... also it took a interminably long time to copy the discs...

What about the other discs that do work from the imported file? Did you try one of them the same way? If it works then yes you may have 6 bad discs.

Moved this to the Hoster Help Forum, and renamed to indicate the true topic.

You are using an External Drive. <-----Clue
It is VERY possible that your OS has assigned a different DRIVE LETTER to you External Drive. With respect to Hoster, it IS POSSIBLE to add a song to the Playlist, because Hoster uses the information in the Songs.MDB to ADD a trk to the playlist, but not be able to PLAY the Trk, because Hoster looks for the KMA in a SPECIFIC location. Open your Build Songs Database and look at the DRIVE LETTER designation. Open MY COMPUTER and see what DRIVE LETTER is assigned to your External Drive. If they don't match, assign your EXTERNAL DRIVE to the SAME letter as what shows in the Build Songs Database. |

that's not the problem.
I have another laptop running hoster so I downloaded the disc onto that laptop... onto the same external hard drive and it worked like a charm. then I switched to the laptop I'm having troule with and same problem. |

Import one of the CDs or as you say download it to the external drive with the working laptop. Then move the external drive to the first laptop, rebuild the database there, search for it and try playing it.
If it plays then you have a CD drive problem on that laptop. It could be that your firmware needs to be updated or the drive is bad.
