What version?
What operating system? Did you try more than one CD? Have you updated you Windows using the Custom Update from Microsoft to install ALL updates? We need a whole lot more information before we can help you.

more info
I am using an acer travel mate laptop with a QSICDRW/DVD SBW-242. I bought the MTU Hoster Light CD at Karaoke Jukebox in Ohio. Lite Version 3.316. When I downloaded the demo from the internet I was able to rip songs with no problem from several types of cds. When I was comfortable enough with it I downloaded the Hoster lite from the cd. Once downloaded I tried to rip a cd and the drive made and awful clunking noise. I looked on the website for a solution and went to tools and choose the cd/dvd that was on the list, saved it and then closed out of hoster. Then restarted tried again and the same thing happened. Then I uninstalled hoster and tried to reinstall it. Same thing happened. My operating system is Windows XP and I downloaded all updates from Windows.
Thanks for the help. This looks like a great program and I would love to be able to use it. |

More than likely the demo you were using was version 3.317 (latest version). If you didn't un-install the Demo, I would suggest you un-install both then download and install version 3.317 from the MTU site. The upgrade is free and you use the same registration/email address.
As far as the driving making clunking noises, this comes from the drive seeking the start sector and not finding it. What you are hearing is the mechanism moving back and forth trying to find the location. This indicates it is a bad disk or a bad drive or could be drive firmware (do a search by the drive model number or go to Acer and see if they have one).
