What's Wrong With My Computer?

When you get the files into this computer that is causing the Tic, tic, tic noise, are you importing them from the CD Drive or are you copying them from the other computer, that has the Plextor drive?

If you are actually importing them into this computer with Microstudio, the drive is making this tic noise, and the only way to fix that is to replace the drive.

Tried

Plextor bins with conversion on the "Plextor" machine KMA files play fine on "Plextor" machine but when files imported (usb hard drive) Laptop, Tic Tic

Before 4.003, khp created and converted, played on Laptop Tic Tic


Confusing facts:
Other Software Demo playing all converted KMA's on Laptop, No Tic Tic

Hoster Demo KMA's, non-plextor Drive, played on Laptop Microstudio, No Tic Tic


Unfixed:

Songverter 1.001 still creates files whose names are not the same as original Bin names
Example DKG-73-6.kma (No Title, No Artist-In file name, Microstudio knows and displays that info but it is not in the file name)

My Plextor Machine will still not Songvert anything to mp3, no matter how carefully I place the "lame" file into the system

Apparently I did not have the most recent NET downloaded. I discovered this while trying to transfer and print an .xps file. Windows advised me and arranged for the upgrade.

So on that issue Never Mind

Problems on Laptop still exist

Look in Songverter's Tool list and click on "Use Full Names For KMA Files"
That will give you the full DiskID, Track, Artist, and Title name.

One more down. Now I'm just left with the Tic Tic noise with its accompanying confusing facts.

Are you saying that you can play the files from the external hard drive in another program and they will work on the Laptop?

If not, then I would say maybe the hard drive has some bad sectors that are causing the noises.

S______ Player from another software company plays Songverted KMA's on my laptop without the noise, just as another Player, a free one, played Songverted wma-g files fine without the noise.

If I take "Songverted" wma-g files, "Songverted" from bins, whether done on the laptop or the other machine, and reprocess them with Goldwave, Microstudio plays those wma-g files fine. Of course Goldwave only reprocesses the wma files. I cut and paste the cdg files to go along.

KMA files processed by Hoster Demo also play without the noise on my Laptop (in Microstudio)

I've tried different combinations, and it doesn't seem to matter if the items are played on external hard drive, or laptop internal hard drive. It doesn't matter where the files were first Songverted either, Unreproccessed Songverter files with a WMA base play poorly on my Laptop using Microstudio
