Exclamation MP3+G Zip Files Must Be Compresed!

If you find an MP3+G Zip file that will not load into Hoster make sure that there is some comression on the zipped files.

Any MP3+G Zip file that was zipped with zero comprssion will not load in Hoster (I am using version 3.316). I suggest using the lowest compression to assure the highest sound quatlity.

I hope this helps

Jim

Jim you also can't use maximum compression either as Hoster won't load it.

Maximum Compression - MP3+GTools 4.0

I can zip files with MP3+GToolz 4.0 at max. compression and they will load into Hoster.

The site I am buying MP3+G files from, zipps their files using no compression. When I try to load a file downloaded from their site into Hoster I get a "Bad Zip File Error (2)". I rezip the files using the program Zip Central 4.01 and the files load into Hoster with no problem.

At this time I did not realize that the zero compression level was causing the error.

I found out about MP3+GToolz 4.0 and started using the program which prevents me from having to rezip the files one at a time. It came set at the max. compression level and the files loaded into Hoster with no problems.

I recently purchased some MP3+G files and rezipped them using MP3+GToolz 4.0 with the compression level set to none or zero to see if the sound quality would change. These files would not load into Hoster. I rezipped them with MP3+GToolz 4.0 using the least amount of compression (to maintain high sound quality) and they loaded into Hoster with no problem. This is when the zero compression issue became evident.

The high level of compression that prevents MP3+G files from loading into Hoster must be from using programs other than MP3+GToolz 4.0 or Zip Central 4.01. Any files zipped with Zip Central 4.01 or MP3+GToolx 4.0 will load into Hoster.

Both Programs Are Free:
Download MP3+GToolz 4.0 here:

Downlaod Zip Central 4.01 here:

Thanks for adding to this thread. Being clear on these matters up will save a bunch of frustration for alot of folks.

The above link to the activeaspsoftware download page does not work right. Just go to:

http://www.activeaspsoftware.net

and clik on "Downloads"
