Beavis is absolutely right! We ALWAYS have stated you are to SAVE your downloads to CDROM. That way, you have what you bought.
We no longer will be providing "infinite" downloads anytime you want to come back. The load on our servers has cost us to expand them, and they still can be brought to a snails pace at times. Before many months, we will have a single download and your link closes. Please get in the habit of SAVING what you download from MTU to a CDROM so you have it safe for you use. |

If you really want to be covered, create a text file for each program installation code, then put those files in the MTU folder along with all the program installation files. Then you'll have everything you need in one location on the hard drive, and on a CD.
I use re-writables, and burn a new one with each program change. |

I have Ghost, but still prefer to have all important program installation files and registration codes backed up on a cd.
Human error being what it is, it's too easy to get in in a frustrating situation and clone the wrong drive. Just one wrong mouse click, and zappo. It doesn't take that long to burn to a cd, just in case. Overkill, perhaps. |

![]() ![]() Billyo, I am very glad to read you are making a CDROM backup. ![]() ![]() ![]() We refuse to accept responsibility to provide free downloads forever. It now costs us DOUBLE the amount for a larger server than a few months back. We are moving to a new "portal" method that works for one download, then the URL link closes and refuses to deliver a second time. Thus, I am hitting this point very hard whenever it appears. All customers must learn to save to a CDROM, or plan on paying us for our time to create a new download portal link for them. |

I'm thinking of those customers whose web browsers have download accellerators. We've had many instances where these accellerators corrupted the download, through no fault of the MTU customer. |

I know this may sound dumb, but, you mean " save to disc" first? And then run the upgrade from the saved disc? Or, can you run the upgrade(online) then save the program to disc? I am more of a musician and karaoke jockey than I am a computer pro, this is why I am asking.

but then, what will happen when MTU releases a free update?

You save the new one, and you're always up to date with your back up's. I use CDRW's for that purpose...off with the old, on with the new
