Import Video files

Hi everybody.
Im a guy from sweden that planing to buy hoster, but trying out the demo
version first to se if it fit my needs,

Most of the files iv'e got is video files (avi) because most of the swedish songs is released on dvd's so i have converted them to avi's. (runing everything on an old x-box at this moment)

So i did check the "import hard drive files" but it did just support (CDG, BIN, MP3G and ZIP) files.
Is it possible some how to import all my video files so i can use the search funktion and be able to create a song book with that information.
Did also noticed that i cant se my wideo file in the preview window, is it taking to much power to have it played in both windows or what?

Also have a some BIN files that i want to import from my HD, wich there is an import button for, the files are saved with artist and track name eg. (Abba - Dancing Queen.bin) but he tells me that the separator characters that end field[2] where not found int the selected filename?! have tried with and without spaces etc, but keeps giving me this info instead of importing the file...:( any body got an idea of what im doing wrong?

Hope any body can help me with my questions..

Ps. Sorry for the bad english

Thanks
//Robert

Robert, thanks for asking... and your English is excellent!

1. In Hoster 3.313 we don't have support for converting AVI files to KMA format to search, print in the Songbook, etc. As I think you know, you can add them individually to the Playlist using the Video button. We are now working on Hoster 4.0, which we plan on adding a way to convert various video format files into KMA's and add them to the Songs Database and Songbook.

2. The Video window is a separate window from the Singer's Display window that all other file types play in. Because of this, we can't easily "copy" the video image into the Preview window. We may fix this some day, but it is not currently scheduled to be done.

3. The only thing I can suggest is that the " - " you are seeing is probably not using spaces, but rather some embedded character that is showing up as a space. There are renaming programs that you could use to search for the "character" that appears as a space, and replace them all with spaces.

Something you can try that may work is to go into Windows Explorer and copy one of the delimiters" - " (all 3 characters) and then paste it into the Hoster delimiter field (it is an editable field you can type/paste into). Then, I believe it will recognize the special characters.

If this does not fix the problem, then I'd suggest you download the Hoster Demo again as you may have received a bad download. This is one function that has worked for at least a year without any reported problems.

Let us know if you have any more questions. I hope you decide to go with Hoster.

BTW: I LOVE... ABBA.

Thanks for the fast answer!!

I Have treied to use Windows Explorer and copy the delimiters" - "
But didn't work, so i assume there is something wrong behind the keyboard

So your KMA file is your data base.
Looking forward for that support.
Realy like the funktion there you just can write a song number, and then you
got it on the play list, and since i mostly got avi files i realy need that funktion.
But you thing that will ble added soon?

Thanks
//Robert
