they are two part files, the mp3 and the graphic.

To be very honest I have had no experience with MP3 based CDG files and cannot give you an answer. I just don't know if they will play as is, or need decompressing, or what.

Rather than operate on guesswork and lead you down the garden path, will defer to anyone able to jump in and help you.

I sent you an email explaining how you go about putting
CD+G / Mp3 files in a PLayer useable format.

check your span filters to make sure it didnt get trashed
you basicly need a 3rd party program to convert the CD+G / MP3
files to BIN, then you can use MTU's Microstudio to write it to a disc.

Thanks for jumping in. Had a feeling the MP3 had to be decompressed but wouldn't have bet my life on it, never having used them

Might help others if you gave a full explanation of the procedure here also as long as it does not involve mentioning a competitive type product. That's how we "share the wealth" on the forums.

I can't see any reason not to mention products which convert mp3g to cdg as MTU don't provide support for this kind of procedure, and a lot of us are constantly coverting stuff we can't get through other sources.
This is not the same as as mentioning competetive products, but I do notice even MTU don't mind as long as we are slagging them.
We all use a variety of products to benefit from the products we do use from MTU
I know you have a liking for Goldwave and Virtual Sound Canvas, both products we have all found very useful and only benefit us.
I personally have been helped over the years from your very sound advice so please don't see this as criticism.

Actually I believe it would violate MTU rules of the board thats
why I didnt post any product names as to a description of
how to achieve this, its actually pretty simple

1. convert CD+G / MP3 file to BIN
2. Burn to a disc using MTU Microstudio.

Private messaging has been enabled right along. I checked to see if something had changed that, and it is still checked...

I imported a .WAV file into an audio editor program I use called Goldwave, and the option to convert it to several other formats including MP3 was available, so I figure the reverse would be possible also if I had a MP3 file.

If you don't mind, I would like you to P.M. me though, just to make sure it still works.

Hey All,
There are lots of programmes to convert wav. mp3, wma, ogg, etc. in both directions.
A lot are freeware.
There is even a limited facility in windows XP.
None of these involve the graphics element found in cdg. mp3+g, bin. or zip.. which make the products that are able to convert these type of files more specialised, and more relevant to us.
MTU have, however, always stressed that converting files rather than importing them as wav. leads to distortion because of the way these files have been compressed and there may be trouble with sync.
I do these conversions and accept any limitations that implies.
I am usually happy with the results.
I have for instance every Sunfly from 1- 232 approx 3500 songs on 13Gb.
In their uncompressed cdg format they would take up 95Gb
