i talked with one user and he suggested going back to 3.xxx version. is there a problem with 3.3xx on the search? my other two shows function properly but did not know if there was something with a laptop that would be different? any suggestions would be appreciated. I know that mtu is busy but if anyone else has run into this can you let me know how you fixed it??

All you need to do is delete the Songs.mdb file. Then Reopen Hoster, it should then start rebuilding the database.
This is the only file that the search is linked to. If it is damaged it can cause this to happen. The only other thing is that, if you have imported some songs into a different folder that you don't have set to be built into your database on your laptop, this would also make the files not show in the search. Make sure you have the same .kma files on all 3 computers so that you know that you have them. Then make sure all the files are being built into your database.

songs not finding all songs with search
Bryan
All kma's are in one folder. I have deleted songs.mdb in hoster database have also tried it with deleting songs and songs backup. I have reuilt the song database after each of these. A lot of the recently added songs do not appear when i search by song name or artist in the search function. if i use the brand function at the top of hoster and go to chartbuster pro country i can pull any song up if i know the disc#. discs cb60329 through cb60351(inclusive) do not show up in the search function. I do not know what else to do when it is only the laptop and not the other pc's that is having this problem. I also updated to 3.003 to see if any portion of my hoster program had been corrupted, no joy in hosterville for me on this laptop using the search function. |

i would try and remove hoster from your hard drive, then go to c: drive and delete the micro folder all together and try a fresh install. make sure you back up any files you want to keep.

songs not finding all songs with search
i just reuilt the song database again and it showed 30 duplicate song id's, merged kma's and then reuilt song database again and it showed the same 30 duplicate songs again. It would appear that the merge kma file is not working. I went into the suildsongdblog and threre are three discs that showed duplicate book id's, these are not any of the chartbuster discs. Could this affect the other songs not coming up in the search function??

Search not finding all songs
I followed beavis advise, removed hoster and deleted all microtech folder, then reinstalled, the database rebuilt and still do not have the latest discs. I then check by book id#. I have upto book id#875, 880 and above are not there by search. I had taken out the latest chartbuster cb60351,rebuilt the database and then reentered the disc, the book id is 1094. So I am evidently missing the last 200+ discs in the laptop for the search function. When i use the top portion of hoster and go to book id# they are there. I use a separate database(excel) to make songbooks so I have never used this portion but the bookid#'s are there but will not show up in the search function. i checked on a tower pc and the book id #'s show up when i used the search function(i.e. bookid# 1094), but not on the laptop. At this point i am totally stumped. If I have to use this for a show this weekend i guess i will have to have them give me the disc# and then look it up that way, any suggestions sounds really weird to me

yes that is what i thought was happing
hoster will see the first bookid and not show you the other(as far as the search box goes) you can delete the ones that dont show and reimport them using a new book id you can open the songs mdb and look for the dupe bookid write down the disc numbers and go delete the disc off your hard drives bryan i had two other hoster users say that the merg was not working this makes 3 |

Search not finding all songs
I had some time so i went in and ramdomly searched some of the higher book id#'s. 1075 thourgh 1081 are there, 878 is there 894 is there. there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to which ones are not there when i use the search box and check by book id#'s.
Mike You should have both song.mds's now thanks |
