You are a 100% right on that Beav.
Oh, do you have any chartbuster essentials that you have tried to import in the past? Did you notice any problems, have you read of any past import problems with them? Here I go again, this probably should have been a new thread as well, huh? |

About your problem importing a song over an already imported song, have you read the manual? We spent a lot of time allowing this to be done. Click the Help menu, then the Read Manual command. When the manual appears in your Browser, paste the following into the Address line and execute it: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Micro%20Technology%20Unlimited/Hoster/Manual/hoster-import-cd.htm#ReImport This should take you to the ReImport topic where this is explained in detail. Our users have been doing an excellent job of trying to help you, but I think the manual is what you now need to read and understand. ![]() |

Thank you very much Moderator for your info.
I think part of my problem is clearly stating my problem. Yes, I read or at least I thought I have read the manual quite thoroughly. My unique problem only seems to be able to reimport a file (because the one on the disc was unnacceptable) from the HD that is added to an existing DiscID/Book ID that was previously imported from a disc and assigned a book ID. The import from the HD keeps telling me that the Book ID is already in use and to choose another one. But I need to keep the same book ID and to append that reimported song to the same root book ID as the disc. In other words, make it like all songs from the disc would have all imported correctly. Is this possible? I will read and reread the manual again, however. If I cannot find an answer may I make a re-request to you or call for clarification? |

Also, Administrator, if you could help me?
Earlier, another post suggested I copy the CB discs then import them from the copied disc and the errors would not show up. Does this makes sense, I hope so! |

![]() That is the way I do if I am having proplems with the "snow flakes". I have a Plextor 716a and I use Micro-Studio software. Then with the copy I import it into Hoster. Most of the time if you have a disc with "snow flakes" Mtu's Micro-studio and a Plextor will make a copy better. Seems like on CB if you have "snow flakes" they seem to get worse as the disc plays. I don't think CB refreshes the screen each time it changes. On SC disc's they seem to refresh their screen each time. So they don't keep getting worse all the time.
Then you may get a bad spot and they are just there for that screen only.

4-05 which means, Disc 4 Track 05 If this is the case, then, you need to RENAME the Trk you are trying to RE-IMPORT as: 4-Track Number - Artist - Title.Bin All the above is NOT what you were advised to do, in the first place. You were advised to assign BRAND as 600, DiscID as 600 and BookID as 600. (Or 405...whatever the case may be) Had you done this, your KMAs, pertaining to this Disc, would have looked like this in your KMA Folder: 600-1 thru 600-15 which means, DiscID 600, Track 1 thru Track 15 There is NO BRAND that prefaces the KMA File. You will ONLY have a DiscID Number. If you had been IMPORTING Discs, like 99.9% of everyone else (which means there is ONLY .1% that could possibly help you with this problem...assuming that that .1% even had the time or would take the time to articulate and POST in this Forum), you would have seen a BRAND assigned to the BEGINNING of the DiscID and would be viewed in your KMA Folder like this: Example: SC8444-1 which means, BRAND=SC (For Sound Choice Spotlight...as Printed on the Disc) DiscID=8444 (as PRINTED on the Sound Choice Spotlight Disc) Track= #1 Since you didn't IMPORT the standard way, you couldn't OBSERVE a normal IMPORT in order to be able to COMPARE your ALTERNATE method of Importing. Hence, the million questions. Label your HARD DRIVE Track correctly, and it will Import/Re-import correctly. |

nReel, thanx again. And wonderfully said, really clear as well.
I have finally done it correctly. My problem, along with not being totally clear in the beginning too, was that my disc ID which was 4-05 and corresponded to root ID 405, was prefaced as 405, and should have been prefaced as 4-05. I did this while properly spacing the other dashes and the disc ID popped up with the root ID and all greyed out to boot. I knew I had it then. With the discs that had 8 or 10 bad imports, I now use a "music CD-RW" for those; using very small bin files for dummies. Everything works really fast as far as reimports go now. I wanna thank you, incsmain, beavis, mindonstrike, and others who were patient with me. I think most of my million questions will slow down now, and perhaps I can be promoted to one that can help others on this forum. Moral of the story: Stay away from CB discs as much as possible when importing! Again, thanks for being really clear when I should have. |
