Unable to delete songs

I loaded 3.30 and imported a disk into it, using the dvd/dvdrw in the laptop. I played most of the songs after the conversion to kma, and the playback quality was terrible. by the end of most of the songs, there was so much litter on the screen from bits and pieces of words, that it was nearly un-readable. I then tried loading the same disk using my trusty Plextor drive, and low and behold, the same thing happened with the screen quality. But, before I imported the disk the second time, I had to assign it a new book ID number, it would not allow me to import using the previous number. Now I have 2 book ID number the same, and one doesn't work.
So either the disk is bad (it is fairly new) or my plextor is becomming faulty, or the original import is still there and not being written over, or heaven forbid, 3.30 has an importing flaw....

when you use Windows to delete songs instead of using tools/edit songs from within Hoster, the only way to remove the songs from the database and free up the rootids is to delete the file "songs.mdb" and rebuild the database.

As for quality try checking/unchecking the "software decodiing" box under select drives and see what happens.
