I'm on DSL and have automatic updates. shows current when I go to the link you provided. Yes, the problem appears to be with a few zip files. When I catch it, I can just delete the file and re-rip the disc later, however, it sometimes it just shutsdown hoster with no error screens. and I can't tell where it's at to delete the file. A few times, I had to re-boot the system to get hoster to allow me to resume batch imports at all. (even if I delete the file that caused the problem) Keep in mind, I did use the winrar convert utiltiy to convert all of my zips to normal compression before I began, and I used the test archive integrity option. Therefore I am assuming, by reading other posts on the subject, that the majority of the "flawed" zip files just have an incorrect character in the file name somewhere and are not actually corrupt files. So why does it shut down hoster and not just error the file?

I moved this Thread to Hoster Help.
We have done a LOT of error checking coding for ZIP files. It appears we need to do another round for your files. Please email support@mtu.com two ZIP files that crash Hoster. We will evaluate them and add error checking if we find a problem. I wish we had a simple answer to get you up and running. ![]() What Hoster version are you running? |

Zip Import
Hey DJ Brian,
I had the same problems when I imported 36K KMA's. It was either bad compression or something extra in the zip(mp3+G and another file) and some of the time it was bad filename, sometimes there was no files in the zip at all.?? As far as trying to figure out were u left off when it crashes, open the folder that your saving it too while your converting your Zips and leave it open. it will put all your new imports at the end of the list in order. Now you can see the last file imported and know that the next one is the bad one. Also only do 1500-2000 songs at a time or less and move them to a different folder so you know which ones you've done and which ones you need to do. Hope this helps. ![]() |
