Audio drop outs

I've noticed since upgrading to 3110 that my audio drop outs have returned when entering details into my playlist. I run Mixmeister Pro 6 at the begining of my show whilst adding singers requests to my playlist. I have never had any trouble with drop outs using the old version, both programs played side by side faultlessly. Hoster 3110 seems to be a little unstable and its worrying. Any ideas please?

'Anyone having any hoster glitches?

I always start up Hoster first and set up my dual screen. Check to see if its running okay then open Mixmeister. I play one or two tracks whilst inputing info into the Hoster playlist. As I press enter the audio drops out.

'Anyone having any hoster glitches?'

Hi Beavis,

Hoster runs okay on its own. The previous version of Hoster worked side by side with Mixmeister without any conflict or audio stutter. Now as soon as I try to search or click the artiste, title box or press enter I get audio dropout.

I'll try that and let you know how I get on. The only upgrade I have done is the latest Hoster 3.110. I have touched or altered nothing since.

Yeah I'm using the latest version of Mixmeister Pro 6. 1.3.
It's a cracking program for $279 but it's no use to me now if I can't run it side by side with Hoster. One program will have to go in the bin. Thanks once again for your support.

Try opening mixmeister 1st and Hoster second. I don't think it would make a difference but it something to try.

Also maybe try installing audio card(s) in a different PCI slot. could be some kind of conflict there.

You can also reinstall 3.108, the importing HD tracks screen is the only difference between the 2.

Theres an emachines desktop computer I helped setup at a club I play at a couple nights a week that has started having minor dropouts during when entering tracks. I had just assumed it was from people messing with the computer when I'm not there. I'll pay more attention to it tonight and then reinstal 3108 and see what happens tomorrow.

You should look at your Task Manager and see if there are other process out there that should not be. It sounds like the system is running another process that is taking over if you see your video lock up when running one application and you sound breaks in another application. If you do not know which process's are good or not you can PM me with a screen shot and I might be able to help.

What are your computer specs? Give us some details, like processor speed, memory, etc...

I know (since I use it) Mixmeister 6 needs ALOT of processing power/memory to work. I cannot use the newer versions of Mixmeister and Hoster on my current laptop without drops and/or hiccups and have reverted to Mixmeister Pro 1.1 (only on my laptop, my shuttle is fine w/v6). It doesn't have nearly all the features of the newer versions, but it does have what you need to DJ a show. Like mhollyts said, check your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), but look at CPU Usage when you hear the drops, I'd be willing to bet your usage is at 100% when you get the drops. Not much can be done if this is the case...other than upgrading your processor, you can try adding more memory, which may help...
