Hoster Serial Number Issue
Further to last post and heeding of comments I again un/re-installed v3.110.
Subsequently able to open and used seven times - thought problem solved . Just tried to open again and flagged message displayed. I use a Evesham 510 (beleive ASUS base) with 1024mem XPro 80gb HDD (where Hoster and its database is located) and a swapable 80GB HDD (where I have my main store of mp3/cdg files) I do not conduct Karaoke shows - I am a singer with memory/dislexia and use system as an aid when I sing - either as teleprompter or to produce compilation discs to use with my tablet dvd player. In the past system has worked whether or not removeable HDD was present and regardless of being connected to internet. An further thoughts/experience ![]() |

![]() I'm using a Dell laptop pent. 4 3.0 ghz and use an external drive also and I have been having the same problem. I have had all my windows updates installed and it seem to work until I shut it off and then on the next start up gives me the error message "Serial # doesn't match reg code, reinstall hoster"
This is definitly a huge problem as it renders the program useless and makes it totally unreliable, not so good if you have a room full of people to please. ![]() |

I read these posts with pain.
![]() I will hold an engineering meeting to see what changed in 3.1xx that could cause this. It should NEVER happen by just turning a computer on/off, especially if Hoster was running and then all of a sudden it gives the "Serial number..." error. We will study this. ![]() |

Is there any External Devices on the computers that are causing this problem? The types of things I want to know about on these specific computers are if you have an External Ethernet card or Wireless network card or any external Hard drives that were attached when you installed the software, and then removed. This will give us something to go on.

I am also getting this message about the serial number not matching. It really does make me nervous when at a show, but so far if I totally shut down my pc and turn it on again, Hoster will open as normal. Not sure why this is happening, but hope a fix can be found. Thanks.

Hoster Serial Number Issue
I use an Actiontec 802.11B Wireless Adapter when I connect to the internet.
Could this be the cause ? I don't plug it in when I do a show. ![]() |

![]() ![]() I had wiped my hard drive clean and did a fesh install of windows xp pro and then installed Hoster 3110, However I do not remember if the wireless eithernet card was in at the time I installed Hoster, I believe it was because I had done all the windows updates. but clearly, I clicked on the hoster shortcut and got the error, removed the wireless card WITHOUT shuting off the pc or rebooting then clicked on the Hoster Icon and it worked fine! Hope this helps. Ernie ![]() |

We are working on trying to find out what is causing this. Your input is helping us on where to go with this.

![]() I too had this problem on my laptop. I had plugged in my usb - ethernet card as used to be required in the earlier days of hoster. I ended up installing an older version of hoster just to get me running for the night.
Aint technology wonderful?? |
