Trouble with Hoster and Microstudio

I have had microstudio for close to 4 years and hoster close to 2 1/2 years and had not run into this problem until one of my singers tried a DK song for the first time ever the other night. I have also used the "CAVS Play CDG" program prior to finding the better hoster product.

Using hoster and DK072-13 "On the street where you live" the graphics are scrambled (similar to SAV discs before the early versions of microstudio was fixed). I also tried DK072-05, -14, & -15, on hoster and the same problem.

I tried to reimport and I even tried the same songs on microstudio with the exact results, but when I tried these songs with the CAVS program I had no problems. I tried these songs from the hard drive on CAVS and used CAVS with my plextor from the disc and had no problems either way.

I even tried converting the CAVS hard drive songs to .bin (using decoder) and changed .bin to .cdg and tried importing to hoster from the hard drive but had the same results.

Will someone please try these rarely sung songs and see if you have the same trouble. If you don't, I'll know it's a problem with my original disc, but if there is a problem, maybe we could get MTU to look for a fix.

The hoster program is hands down the best and there is no way I would ever promote CAVS but I sometimes use it for playing audio and it frequently works for playing some of the media clog discs.

Thanks Dave

I tested with both, DKK072-05 and DKM3054-09 (Same Song...DKK=Original DK Series Discs and DKM=DK Millennium Series Discs), and the Graphics do not display correctly.

I re-imported from the Originals with Earlier versions of Hoster (3.006 and 2.219) and got the same results.

I, also, ripped and burned with alternate programs and got the same result when using the newly burned Disc to import the Trks into Hoster or Played through Microstudio.

Thanks for your reply, but since you didn't mention the other songs on the same disc, I assume you did not have any trouble with them. If you tried the other songs and had the same problem, please mention it too.

I would like to see if any other hoster users had the same scrambled graphics on this or any other DK disc in their library. As you can see these songs are rarely sung but I surely wouldn't want to have any other surprises when it comes to other DK or other brand tracks.

Regards, Dave

Yes, the other Tracks of the DKK Original Disc Set, that you mentioned, scramble too.

I didn't take time to see if the DK Millennium Set had corresponding songs.

I also get the bad lyrics on tracks 5, 13, 14, 15 on DK72, however, the other tracks are fine. The one thing I noticed is that on the bad tracks, the title graphics exit the screen at an angle. The good tracks don't. This may be the problem similiar to what Pop Hits Monthly had in the past that MTU can correct. I think it probably has to do with the title graphic and how it exits the screen.

And, yes, it happens in Microstudio also when either trying to play or import.

Good eye, I hadn't noticed the title graphics before you mentioned it. Has anyone found any more DK problems? I believe you are right about MTU and I think they should be able to address this problem and fix it once and for all.

I have the same problem with that disc too. Not a big deal, I do have other versions of those songs, but it is a pain in the butt.
