Re: Video Cards

Here's a reply I got from their support asking whether the drives were MADE BY ATI or POWERED BY ATI.The price made me wonder. Guess it's the luck of the draw.

"Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your most recent e-mail. The cards not made by ATI them self's are powered by the ATI chipset.

Thank you,

Re: Video Cards

Another option if you can find one is the Radeon 9000 Pro.

These cards work great with Hoster. I got an AGP one with 256mb/DDR for under $50.

It has dual monitor outputs as well as an RCA video out.

Re: Video Cards

DJYale, I have a question for you regarding the Radeon 9000 Pro. You mentioned that it had dual video outputs as well as an rca video out. If you connect a TV to the rca jack does it show the same information as the secondary video display? The thought being that you could either use another monitor or a TV for the singers to use depending on where you were and what you had available. If it does could you also connect both a TV and a monitor and have the singers information show on both displays? Just wondering...

Thanks,

Re: Video Cards

To be totally honest I've never tried connecting all 3 at once, I may have to just to see now that the question has been posed.

I run the vga out to a monitor, and the RCA out to a radio shack RF modulator ... the second VGA out I don't normally use.

But, the RCA out functions as an extended desktop.

I know of some displays that allow the desktop to be extended on to more than 2 displays but have not tried it with this card I have now.

Re: Video Cards

I was just wondering because it might be nice at some parties where people are really not that familiar with Karaoke to have a third display facing the crowd so that they can see the lyrics as the songs are playing. That way they will better understand how it works and be more apt to get up and give singing a try. Let me know if you do happen to try it and it works.

Re: Video Cards

Upnext,
These video cards will only support 2 monitors. Now what you could do is run an Svideo cable out to a RF Modulator, and then run the Coaxial cable from this to a splitter, which could then feed as many TV's as you wanted.
