Re: DVD Down load software
I'm not sure if Hoster will do that when it does support DVD karaoke (I'm hoping), for now I just rip mine to mpg and play them through winamp.

Re: DVD Down load software
We have been moving towards video support for over a year, getting Hoster ready to handle it.
![]() Hoster 3.1 will release this week. To support video, we must replace our CDROM/CDR/DVDR drivers to read video disc formats. We have the drivers finished and are now integrating them into 3.2. We won't delay 3.1 as these drivers will require 2-4 weeks testing to prove they work correctly before release. VCD tracks are expected to import directly into KMA files, adding to your Songs Database and Song Books. This will be in Hoster V3.2. Playiing VCD and DVD tracks directly from discs will be in V3.2 also. It is too complex to import DVD tracks as KMA files. We are looking for another program to convert a DVD track to an AVI, MPEG, etc. file that we can play from Hoster. Let us know if you run across anything. |

Re: DVD Down load software
I've recorded all my video disks (lasers, VCDs and DVDs) to my computer as .mpg files. You can't play them through Hoster though (keep waiting for this functionality to come out

Re: DVD Down load software
Songpony where do I get this program to download my dvds
I'm sure Songpony is referring to a video capture device (usb or internal), essentially hooking up your player and recording it at 1x on your computer. No way around it for lasers, however for most dvd and vcd you are better off using a ripping program. For VCD's I used TMPGE (used to be shareware but now has 14 day limit before buying). For DVD's I used the ImTOO DVD Ripper (5 min limitation untill activated) I had a few VCD's and 1 DVD that wouldn't rip so I had to use the video capture route All of them you'll want to just do 1 or 2 and check the audio level before doing a bunch. Re: DVD Down load software
It will probably make use of software you already have (like WinDVD Creator or something similar), but yes, you would need to purchase a device to capture the audio and video output of your karaoke player. I used an external USB device which utilized the WinDVD Creator software. It was a simple process, but time-consuming since you have to actually sit there while it plays each song (it does the capture in real-time). If you want more specific hardware details, send me a private message and I'll provide further info - not sure it's appropriate to post here. Thanks!
