Single Display Users

Hi,

I'm a new poster in this board. I'm in the process of converting from using discs in my Karaoke shows to computerized. From all the information that I've read online, MTU's Hoster is the way that I want to go. I understand the advantages of using a dual display, allowing you to input additional singers, while the current singer performs. Right now, I'm limited to the laptop that I own, which I don't believe offers a dual display (Dell Inspiron 6000), so I'm interested in hearing comments from users that use the software with a single display.

Thanks,

Re: Single Display Users

Just to post an answer. I think that most users use the Dual Display, which is why you might not be having anyone answer you on this.

Hmmm... Pardon my ignorance... I thought that having an S-Video out didn't necessarily meant that my laptop supported a separate independent display.
I thought that if I hooked up a TV to my laptop through the S-video output, it would just show the same thing I can see on the laptop's screen. I also thought that the independent dual display abilities of the computer were determined by the video card. Again... a lot of thought... not a lot of knowledge here... sorry!

Your comments/feedback continue to be appreciated!

Re: Single Display Users

you have to go under display setings, and set it up to display on the tv for the second diaplay, and most do extend the desktop so you will have 2 separate displays.

I would find it very strange if it didnt. I use an RCA video modulator to send either RF (Channel 3 or 4) or rca video out to a display.

Re: Single Display Users

I have a Dell 4000 laptop and it has an S video out but it is only in the clone mode. It can not be made to extend the desktop. I don't use it for my show. I just use it at home.
