Re: HELP!!! SYSTEM CRASHES.....EVERY Night

i use hoster 6 nights a week and i only have had it freeze while loadin a singers disk but it has never crashed usally just have to close hoster and restart it but never have to reboot pc what i do is just import all my singers disk during my dance set in between each rotation so that way if something happens then it dont happen when someone is singin mtu is close to releasin 3.1 and that should take care of everyone.

Re: HELP!!! SYSTEM CRASHES.....EVERY Night

the last two sows now have been ok. I have not loaded a dics into the system though during either one of the shows. It's could be the disc loading maybe that is doing it? Could be coincidence too I suppose. How can I get a copy of the upgrade and trust loading a disc should someone bring one in. Two peple weren't happy last night because I didn't want to take a chance with a show that was going well and a full house!!
I have the plextor 716 burner and as I said all upgrades have been made. The new version available? I and leary of crashing again with an imported disc. Suggestions?

Re: HELP!!! SYSTEM CRASHES.....EVERY Night

I had a problem with my computer crashing and giving me problems that I couldn't figure out. Not nessesarily loading peoples disks but just whenever it decided to. I narrowed it down to the sound card I was using. I was using the audigy external ummm.... NX I believe. This was on a regular pc mind you but I was still using an external. So I bought a 29.00 internal sound blaster, loaded the correct software and havn't had the problem since. Maybe this could help. Oh by the way does anyone know if you still have to turn down the hardware acceleration on the sound cards or is that problem taken care of?

hi there, i have two laptops and one home machine all using hoster. my first laptop has been freezing for about 6 months, you never know where or when in the show but ouch !. the other 2 are fine, i have used hoster for 2 years for 3 to 4 shows a week. Recently to remove the problem i paid to have the coputer reformated and a new version of windows xp pro installed. Last night fri i downloaded and installed the latest version of hoster and copied my songs 4500 from my backup hard drive (which i use to reload all machines) , and hey presto it kept freezing in the show where my mate was working for me, so i don't think its windows, hoster or drives as i do not tell people that i can load their discs,
We are as we speak adding windows 2000 installed with option as to which system to run on and going to try that out to see if the laptop will work better with that, failing that i am going to purchase a cool mat which the laptop sits on and contains 3or4 cooling fans to see if heat is an issue,
will keep you posted.

Does your event viewer log anything at the freezing point?
