Video Card or External PC to TV converter
Here is the deal, I have a 1 GHZ computer that came with Win2K I have spent a lot of money on CDs the Hoster and suite and I was hoping to go with a $60.00 PC to TV converter instead of a $200.00 video card. is there a program that I can use to widen my screen and put the right half on the TVs and the left half on my monitor?
What Video cards should I look at. Running Win2K and PCI slot only no AGP. As of right now my intent is to run hoster at the bottom of the screen and words on the Top. |

Re: Video Card or External PC to TV converter
Quote:
As for the PC to TV converter, you can get some of the older ATI cards with dual display that work just fine. I have an ATI 9000pro PCI /w dual display that I picked up for $60. Searching real quick I found: ATI RADEON 9250 Video Card, 256MB DDR, 128-Bit, TV-Out, PCI for $120 Should be able to find a 9000 like I have for around $60-$70 |

Re: Video Card or External PC to TV converter
I have ran the ATI Radeon 9000pro using extended desktop under win 2k. As long as the card has software implementation for win 2k dual display there are little to no issues.
Have also utilized the 9000 pro under windows 2000 standard and Pro with dual display with no problems before the point of being server edition is brought in. |

Re: Video Card or External PC to TV converter
Still no go, I need PCI slot, It just looks like I will have to fork out the money for a PCI slot Video card. Supply and Demand, PCI going out price goes up.

Re: Video Card or External PC to TV converter
Wow Thanks a lot. those are a bit closer to my budget. I'm hoping to get this ting working soon but I still have almost 400 more CDs to get in there lol I have been averageing 20 to 30 a night and I am almost halfway done lol.
It will be nice to get the video working before I'm done with the CDs so it will be ready for a show when the CDs are done. |

Re: Video Card or External PC to TV converter
hey big mike,
make sure once you have all your cd-g's imported, you make a back up copy of them in case your hard drive fails. use an external or an internal hard drive. buy a new internal, its well worth the money! i would even do it half way through ! ![]() |
