I did install anti-virus and some spy bot software. I didn't have a virus on my computer, so I'm not sure exactly what happened. But, I did remove hoster and reinstall, along with another batch of updates, and it seems to be closer.

One thing I didn't understand, was when someone suggested to another person to reinstall the Hoster Databse file (they were getting a CDao exception), and they mentioned to download it. How do I do that, and where do I download it from? I don't ever remember downloading it in the first place. I ran the program file to install, and that's it. It was made clear that the database file and the program file were 2 different things.
