Additional info. I just checked "system" in the control panel and it says the USB storage adaptor (Plextor) driver is not installed. It IS installed and when I tried to install it again it said it was already installed.

Finally resolved issue on my own after working on it a lot more. Finally can record disks after two days of not being able to.

I would say that it most likely is that you need to Install the latest Chipset drivers for your Computers Motherboard. This should have fixed it for you.
