Microstudio locks up /crashes on record, over and over again, randomly
Microstudio is now causing problems after successfully recording several disks. Now it is eating every disk I try to record.
This time I ran "test CD" successfully but then when I was actually recording it froze on track 10. No error message, just froze, necessitating the reboot of the computer. This has happened several times. I am recording at 4X. BTW, this setting likes to just change itself back to "automatic" whenever it feels like it, again eating another disk as I know it will not record higher than 4x. It should stay at the 4x setting unless I change it. |

We need all the info about your system you can give us. Use this as an example:

Re: Microstudio locks up /crashes on record, over and over again, randomly
I don't know everything you ask for.
Using Windows 98SE on an AMD 733 Mhz Duron chip. Using Plextor PX-712UF. It worked fine and all of a sudden it freezes. Since I made my post it has now frozen twice when trying to import a track. This time the computer does not freeze, just the importing process. |

Try going to the Plextor website and download the latest drivers for that burner.
See if that helps. George |

Re: Microstudio locks up /crashes on record, over and over again, randomly
I would also run all of the Windows Updates from the Start Menu\Windows Update. This might help, but if it freezes completely, it sounds like a hardware error that would cause this. Try burning an audio CD with another program on your computer and see if the same thing happens.
