I believe that it works for only that song, then defalts to normal settings.

However you can go into hoster and edit specific songs that are multiplex, and select R or L channel and it will play the song that way each time it is played in the future.

i have found that the sound quality is much better since i been using hoster crisper highs and deeper bass

I have used Hoster for about a year and am completly happy. The sound is as good or better than a disc, but I found the graphics to be better. With a disc, sometimes I would get messed up graphics. This does not happen with Hoster. If I had to go back to discs, I'd quit the business.
