Re: Slow Sweep Still Not Fixed
Boy, just noticed my typos...grrr.
With XP to set a restore point, at the top of any windows screen(my documents,c:, etc),click on HELP, then HELP AND SUPPORT CENTER, then under PICK A TASK, open UNDO CHANGES WITH SYSTEM RESTORE, then click CREATE A RESTORE POINT, then NEXT, then give it a name, anything you'll recognize will do, then click CREATE. Since you're having the problem you are, immediately after setting the audio hardware accellerator down a notch(to the left), I'd do this. Don't open Hoster to check it out until you've done this first. If you see some, but not full improvement, you can repeat the process and move the accellerator another notch. This is a wierd problem. Windows is supposed to hold the settings. I don't know if this will cure it or not, but setting a restore point is supposed to lock in all the p.c.settings. Before doing this you might want to delete any unwanted programs, files, temp internet files, etc, etc, and perhaps even do a disc defrag if you haven't done one in a while. Then you'd be starting fresher. Hope this helps, George |
