Thanks! He has done that but it is recognizing the second monitor as monitor #1 and Monitor # 1 as #1. Any other suggestions? He's at a picnic set up in the sun, and he's sweating.

Re: XP Service Pack 2 upgrade now PROBLEMS!

Okay, back from the gig. Here is what I am seeing...
Bryan - I'm the guy running a second display with the Viewsonic flat panel monitor. Before the XP service pack 2 upgrade recently, I typically was able to get the flat panel display to activate by selecting monitor 2 in the display settings, and simply going to the advanced device selection tab, I would change the default of "TV" to the "Analog Display" and away I would go.
Since the XP upgrade service pack 2 recently, now when I do that same procedure, it will not update with the change.
The second display is checked for extending the desktop of course. But when I do select the second display and then try to identify it, at one time, the system was identifying it as "1" as well as the primary. Now, it doesn't even show the "1", it is almost like it doesn't recognize it at all.
Anybody got any clues on this one???

Re: XP Service Pack 2 upgrade now PROBLEMS!

did your video card update from windows service pk2 ?? if so just roll back the driver to previous one.

you should only update your video drivers from there own manufacturer.

Re: XP Service Pack 2 upgrade now PROBLEMS!

Problem Solved!

Beavis - Thank you!

I did the rollback to previous driver, rebooted, and the second display immediately popped back up.

I am assuming that the service pack 2 upgrade must have done some update to the driver.

Hope this helps somebody else as well!

Thanks!

Scott

Re: XP Service Pack 2 upgrade now PROBLEMS!

Glad you got it fixed, I was not sure what would have caused this, had to be something with the driver though. Good job Beavis.
