I have an HP NC6000 and the internal Sound Max card sounds good to me.

Like I said, it is a try me type thing with anything except the MTU Laptop, which was made for audio applications.

I have a compaq presario(made by hp), high end laptop, and it works fine except I have to use the hum eliminator. If you don't purchase a laptop designed to do a specific job, it will be a generic, and made for general purpose applications.

The MTU computers have been tested & configured, and do have a built in cdg reader that works.

The systems no longer have a Built in CD+G drive. They now come with an External USB drive for CD+G. The reason for this is that no company makes a drive that will currently work inside a laptop.
