Dual display problems - Was a bad video card!!!

I am using an ATI card, not powered by. Also, the drivers were downloaded and installed from ATI's website.

you need a built by ATI card !!!

you would be suprised but a cheaper card (built by ATI) works just as good. i bought i high end ATI card and had to return it and bought the cheaper one with only an RCA out and it works great.

you have to remember we are not watching a DVD here, its just rolling text on a screen.

this card should work
you say you have a dvi out and a vga out

first thing i would do is find a tv that has s viedo on it try hooking it up with no adaptor

then you will know if that part works

next if that works and you still cant get it to work using the adaptor for s viedo i would get the dvi adaptor and get the converter that takes the vga to a rca out put you can get a good one at www.aitech.com

these are great the give you a lot of flex in the things you can do

i was never a ati fan but that is just my opinion built by or powerd by

by the way is this a desk if it is you have a lot of other cards that you can use but i dont think it is the card i think it is the way you are trying to set it up

Did you get the card working?

If not, right click on the Desktop, Left click Properties. Then click on the Settings Tab. Left click, once, the 2 for the second monitor. Then click the Checkbox stating "Extend my Windows desktop to this monitor".

Click Apply, and you should see the monitor come on. If you still have problems, then give ATI a call.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies to my question. Through much troubleshooting I have found my problem; a DOA video card. I plugged a new one in and it instantly worked. Just frustrating spending so much time researching this.

Tell me about it. I have these type of issues all the time here at the office, and of course sometimes they get you. When you least expect it, the card can be bad.

Perhaps MTU could "Certify" Video cards along with the CD drives.
