Re: Problems with newer PHM's/2.209

Wow this seems to be a serious problem here, I just thought I'd drop in because I havn't seemed to have had this problem. I have been using hoster for about 6 months and am thoroughly happy with it. I purchased 2.127 I believe and I chose not to upgrade until 2.213 came out. now when I play some of the phm, thm, rhm whatever, I get a little pop sound in the very beggining but it usually only last a second before the words come up. I get that with a few stardisks also. IS that the audio drop out your talking about? Or would I definatley notice it? I have two systems, one for home and one for shows. Both of them are equal in sound quality but both are completely different. What I mean is the hoster program sounds runs plays all the songs the same way. If I get a pop on a song on one system I get the same pop out of the same song on the other system. These are the jest of both systems.

Oh and an audigy 2 24bit with harware accel set to basic.

Athlon 2700 xp
512 mg ram
2 120 gig hd's
Win xp pro
External plextor 708 uf
a small 4 channel alesis w/ effects
2 jbl powered speakers
external audigy 2 24 bit
Wow I just noticed harware accel was set to full, I'm suprised that didn't cause me a problem. Hmm.. I better change it

Now what I wanted to throw out there since no one seems to have an answer to all of this mess is. How many of you having problems have used the volume leveling feature? Cause I was to exited when I started that I overlooked that. And maybe what compression each of you used? I used 96 on everything. Anyway just a suggestion, cause I know that if you are like me you will never go back to cd's unless you have to. Thats just not an option right?

Anyway thanks for the time......

Re: Problems with newer PHM's/2.209

Not everyone is having the problem, even though MTU stated that the problem exists in the Hoster software, not the hardware you are using.

Now, you could have audio drops based on hardware configuration settings, but they have fixes for that stuff. These drops we are speaking of are related to the way the graphics code is done on PHM discs. When graphics fade in or fade out on the newer PHM discs, the PC acts like the graphics are too much, and the sound cuts out while the actual fade is happening. After that, it's fine. It tends to happen on the intro screen, if the music is playing when the intro screen comes up. Or, it will happen when the graphics fade out, going into an instrumental break in the song. Those are the most common parts.

Like I said, I don't know why it affects only some of us, and not the others.

If you have the PHM version of "I Love This Bar", or "My Immortal", try them out. Those both drop on the intro screen on my system.

But, MTU will get the problem fixed. Everything else runs flawlessly. Hoster is the coolest thing ever for Karaoke.

Re: Problems with newer PHM's/2.209

Anyone who is having the PHM problem, please test this version and let us know if it fixes your probelm.

[snip]

Please let me know what you find with this, by posting in this thread. I will be out of town from 9/02/04-9/05/04.

Admin note: Too many others are getting this version before we are ready to release it. I have removed the download link. If you have problems with PHM discs, and you are already posted in this thread, and you didn't get it earlier when we asked you to, Post here and I'll try to get it to you. Anyone else will have to wait until we release it.

I have changed the folder name so all prior download links are now invalid to get 2.215.
