Just occurred to me you may need to increase your virtual memory, especially if you're running thin on Physical memory.
For XP you would click go to the Control Panel: System...Advanced...Performance Settings...Advanced...Virtual Memory...Change...Custom Size: Increase both Initial and Maximum to equal settings. My XP system shows Recommended of 766 mg. I have it set at 1024 Initial and Maximum. That's with physical memory of 512 mg. George
