Text doesn't show on JVC Karaoke Player - Superimpose switch was problem again

I made my first cdg disk and was relatively pleased with how everything looked and worked. It played fine in microstudio and played fine on my "singing machine" player.
Then I took to disk to my local karaoke bar and was surprised to see a black, blank screen while the music played. What can I do to make sure the disks I record will play correctly in "all" karaoke players?

P.S. I am using the plextor drive you recommend, and am using memorex cd-r's.

Firstly, the code which is used in Karaoke Home Producer is exactly the same as that used in Karaoke Pro, so when you use the 'export CD+G' function in your software you are creating a .cdg track which is compatible with all players bearing the CD and Graphics mark.

The fact that the track plays perfectly in Microstudio shows that it is not the fault of the software.

Did you actually tell the KJ that your disc was a CD+G disc? Otherwise he/she may have assumed that it was an audio only disc, and he/she may have played it on a standard CD player, explaining the black screen.

You could test your disc by playing it in Microstudio directly from the CDR. If there are no graphics in this case, then there is a problem with the disc and the way you have written it.

I understand your frustration! - I too experience this problem on a regular basis. I own an karaoke company and host the events. Our discs made with KHPro work great in every player but those made by JVC. I've asked a dealer in my town about it and there is no reason they can come up with. Another thing you can try is to make sure that if your KJ is using a JVC player that the Superimpose function switch on the back of the unit is turned in the OFF position. Sometimes this will fix the problem although I have had the problem either way, as well as, have a disc play fine and the next time I use the same disc, no words.
Only JVC player have this problem in my experience. We run 8 JVC800+1 Karaoke Players and all of them have this problem.

That's really strange because all my CD+Gs created on KHPro will play fine in both my JVC players, the single drawer and the triple drawer version.

The answer could be to buy a Vocopro player.

Gentlepersons, make sure your JVC's have the "Superimpose" option disabled. There is another thread on this subject (with JVC800's) that this was proposed to be the problem and solution. We will address how KHProducer is generating the CDG file as to the "Superimpose" option, and make sure we turn this off. It is possible it is currently being enabled.

The other thread has specific instructions as to where the Superimpose switch is on the JVC800.

Try Recording another CD at 1x to see if it will play in this JVC Player. Some of the JVC, Sony and Pioneer players won't play copied or burned discs unless they are written at 1x.

So, I couldn't wait a week. I went to a Tuesday night karaoke session with the same company that I tried before.
This time I asked the KJ to try the superimpose switch.
Although it was broken, he was able to use a knife to push the switch from on to off and .....THE TEXT APPEARED!

Has anyone given this information to JVC?
