Re-assigning a Song ID
I have a song that has a glitch and I want to replace it with another song that has the same title, but I want that song to have the same ID number.
I know how to delete the first song from the database and the hard drive, but how do I import the other song and assign the old ID to it, so I do not have to change the song book? Thanks, Wes

Re: Re-assigning a Song ID
What type of file was the original imported as ?
1) Was it originally imported direct from a cd+g disc ? 2) Or was it was originally imported as a hard drive file, if so what format was it Zip, MP3+cdg, mp4 or some other type ? 3) was it imported as KMA or KMH type ? Answer the above and I should be able to give a specific method

Re: Re-assigning a Song ID
Roy,
It was imported as KMA direct from a cd+g disc. I checked out the original cd+g disc and it is fine, but the KMA on the hard drive is not. Thanks for your quick response, Wes

Re: Re-assigning a Song ID
You should be able to re import it off the disc.
just use the import CD tracks dialog. With the disc in the drive enter the original Brand and disc Id then search local database and it should fill the lower area with the original Artist and Titles, make sure it shows the original Root Book id then tick the box next to the track you want to re import finally press the import selected tracks button. If for some reason the track wont import clean and you want to replace that track with a hard drive file then try this: Rename your hard drive files with the exact same Disc Id and track # followed by artist and title as the one your replacing. Example AH2000-6 - Magic Man - Heart.mp3 & AH2000-6 - Magic Man - Heart.cdg or if a zip just rename the zip file. Then import via Index song files dialog not via the cd tracks: I knocked up a video might make it clearer: http://youtu.be/azf1l6MV8a0?hd=1 Make sure the save to box matches your original location of your kma file.

Re: Re-assigning a Song ID
Roy,
Once again you were spot on with your fix for my problem. I used the install disc option and it worked like a charm. You spent a lot of time with the video instructions, but I do greatly appreciate the time spend helping me and others. Thanks again, Wes
