Wow! Here it is a year later, and the problem persists. I have since purchased a new high performance laptop with an SSD drive, installed a fresh copy of Hoster and built the database, but it still hangs on just about any operation. This is quite frustrating.

Are your music files on an external drive ?
If yes have you ran a disc check on that drive and optimised it or defragged it ? Also try a new connection lead from the usb drive. If your music files are on the C drive how much free space do you have on that drive ? Can you give us the Windows version and computer model you using and its specs.

Sure, it\'s a Dell touchscreen laptop with an Intel Core i7-7500U dual core processor at 2.9 GHz, with 16 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD hard drive with 1 TB free, Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 1709, build 16299.192. Pretty sure it\'s got enough power. :-)
